The Government of Andhra Pradesh Prisons Department has released a notification (No: 02 / 2025, Dated.06-09-2025) for the recruitment of various positions on an Outsourcing Basis. Vacancies include Pharmacist Gr – II, Office Subordinate, Watchman, and Driver (LMV) in the offices of the Superintendent, District Jail, Guntur, and the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Guntur Range, Tadepalli. Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

Pharmacist Gr – II

  • (a) Qualifications:
    • B.Pharmacy/D.Pharmacy/Pharma-D/M.Pharmacy course after intermediate, recognized by the Govt. of A.P.
    • Any other eligible equivalent qualification must be registered with AP Pharmacy Council with updated renewal.
    • Preference will be given to experienced candidates.
  • (b) Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to read, speak, and write Telugu and English.
    • Computer knowledge and efficient in MS Office.
    • Basic understanding of Medical / Surgical specialties, and Hospital administration.
    • Knowledge in indent of drugs/budget from GMSD stores.

Office Subordinate

  • (a) Qualifications: Must have passed 7th class or equivalent examination and be able to read and write Telugu.

Watchman

  • (a) Qualifications: Must have passed 5th class and be able to read and write Telugu.

Driver (LMV)

  • (a) Qualifications:
    • Pass in SSC.
    • Must possess a valid LMV driving license issued by the Andhra Pradesh Transport Department. (Requires passing a written test on road rules/regulations and a practical driving test).
    • Training from a recognized driving school is advisable.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience of driving LMV vehicles as on notification date.
    • Knowledge of LMV vehicle maintenance and ability to attend minor repairs, with no accident records.
    • Good knowledge of road signs and signals.
Age Limit & Reservation
Minimum Age 18 years as on 31.08.2025
Maximum Age (General) 42 years as on 31.08.2025
Age Relaxation (Upper Limit)
  • SC/ST’s: 5 years (maximum 47 years)
  • BC’s/EWS: 3 years (maximum 47 years)
  • Ex-servicemen: As per AP State Govt. outsourcing employees Rules in force.
Rule of Reservation Will apply as per AP State Govt. Outsourcing employees Rules in force.

Functions & Duties of Posts

Post Name General Duties

Pharmacist Gr – II

  • In-charge of Medical Stores.
  • Assess drug, dressing, and appliance requirements, inform officer for indenting.
  • Maintain stock registers of drugs, dressings, and appliances.
  • Responsible for quality of materials received in medical stores.
  • Maintain stock register of major and minor equipment in hospital.
  • Ensure drugs are used before expiry, monitor expenditure.
  • Proper supply of chemicals and apparatus for Medical boards in Medical Board Room.
  • Institute risk and cost purchase procedures and infections.
  • Maintain account of costly medicines and injections.
  • Prepare bills and receipts of medicines.
  • Maintain a dead stock register.
  • Affix hospital stamp on medicines/injections in dispensary for identification.
  • Calculate cost of drugs/materials for performance budgeting.
  • Attend to emergency calls.
  • Maintain dress code as designed by the Director of Medical and Health.

Office Subordinate

  • Responsible for cleanliness of office rooms, premises.
  • General tidiness, dusting furniture, and records daily.
  • Carry out miscellaneous orders (stitching files, carrying files, papers to various sections/officers, bringing/distributing stationery).
  • Ensure all fans/lights are off, doors/windows locked securely after hours; check on opening for loss/tampering.
  • Responsible for custody and loss of all articles within allotted room area.
  • Any other work assigned by the competent authority.
  • Maintain dress code as designed by the Competent Authority.

Watchman

  • Primarily guarding property (empty building after office hours) and watching for intruders.
  • Look for other hazards (fire, water damage).
  • Regular patrol of office premises for vigilance.
  • Checking for unlocked or damaged doors and windows.
  • Deterrence against anti-social and illegal activities.
  • Respond first to incidents and emergencies.
  • Maintenance of register for all activities, advising employer on security.
  • Maintenance of Visitors In and Out register.
  • Any other work assigned by the competent authority.
  • Maintain dress code as designed by the Competent Authority.

Driver (LMV)

  • Vehicle Operation: Operate Government owned light motor vehicles safely and efficiently to transport officials, materials, and equipment.
  • Transportation: Provide transportation to Government Officials, Staff, and authorized personnel for meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and Government Policies.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance checks, ensure good working condition.
  • Reporting: Keep accurate records of trips, distances, fuel consumption, maintenance issues; provide timely reports.
  • Any other work assigned by the competent authority.

Self-Attested Copies to be Enclosed with Application

Required Documents
All documents must be self-attested copies. Failure to enclose any required self-attested copies will result in the summary rejection of the application.
1. Application Form & Photo Filled-in application form with latest Passport size photo affixed.
2. Marks Memos Attested copy of marks memo of qualifying examination or equivalent certificate, and all years of qualifying examination.
3. Qualification Certificates Attested copies of Provisional / Permanent certificate of qualification.
4. Registration Certificate Attested copy of permanent registration certificate of the respected council/Board (e.g., AP Pharmacy Council for Pharmacist).
5. Caste/EWS Certificate Attested copy of latest caste certificate (for SC/ST/BC) or latest EWS certificate (for OC Candidates). If not enclosed, candidate treated under Open Category.
6. Study Certificates Attested copies of study certificates from Class-III to X. If not enclosed, candidate treated as Non-Local.
7. Experience Certificate Attested copy of the experience certificate (if applicable).
8. Aadhar Certificate Attested copy of the Aadhar certificate (mandatory).
9. NOC (if applicable) No objection certificate from the employer (if currently employed anywhere).

Selection Process

Selection Criteria
  • 75% marks will be allocated from the aggregate marks obtained in all years of the qualifying examination.
  • Interviews will be conducted, carrying a maximum of 25% marks.
  • Selection will be purely on Merit and adherence to Rule of Reservations as per Rule 22 of AP State and Subordinate Services, and other applicable A.P. State Government rules.
  • The merit list will be based on the combined marks from the qualifying examination and interview.
  • In case of a tie in total marks, the elder candidate in age will be considered for provisional selection.
  • Candidates must produce original certificates on the day of the interview. Failure to do so will result in rejection.

General Conditions & Instructions

Important Notes
  • The engagement is on an Outsourcing Basis; selected candidates will not be regarded as members of the service and will not have any preferential right to other appointments. Services may be terminated at any point for administrative reasons.
  • Remuneration will be paid as per Go.Ms.No.7. Finance (HR.I Plg & policy) department, dated. 17-01-2022.
  • Leave rules will apply as per A.P. State Government rules in force for outsourcing employees.
  • No private practice is allowed during the contract period.
  • All staff must stay in bonafide Head Quarters and be available 24 hours on call for emergencies.
  • Applicants must be of sound health, active habits, free from bodily defects/infirmities, and have a qualifying character/antecedents. Must be a citizen of India.
  • Persons in a bigamous marriage are not eligible.
  • Persons dismissed from State/Central Government service or convicted by a Court of Law for an offense involving moral turpitude are not eligible.
  • Any attempt to influence or furnish false information will lead to summary disqualification and potential legal action/debarment.
  • The Department’s decision regarding application acceptance/rejection and selection process will be final and binding.
