Syllabus for Pharmacist (Allopathy) – Technical Paper 10
The technical paper for the Pharmacist post will cover the following domains:
- Pharmaceutics: Pharmacopoeia, packaging, unit operations, formulations (tablets, capsules, sterile products), quality control, and novel drug delivery systems.
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Sources of errors, impurities, volumetric/gravimetric analysis, chemistry of inorganic pharmaceuticals, and drugs acting on various body systems.
- Pharmacognosy: Classification of drugs, quality control of crude drugs, study of plant fibres, and principles of traditional medicine systems.
- Human Anatomy & Physiology: Structure of cell, tissues, and detailed study of all organ systems (Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Nervous, etc.).
- Social Pharmacy: Preventive healthcare, nutrition, microbiology, epidemiology, health systems in India, and pharmacoeconomics.
- Pharmacology: General pharmacology and detailed study of drugs acting on various body systems.
- Community Pharmacy & Management: Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP), prescription handling, patient counseling, and OTC medications.
- Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy: Hospital organization, drug distribution, compounding, and clinical pharmacy concepts.
- Pharmacy Law & Ethics: Pharmacy Act-1948, Drugs and Cosmetics Act-1940, and other relevant legal and ethical frameworks.
