VACANCY NOTICE
The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, invites online applications from eligible candidates for filling the Group-C Non-Ministerial post of Veterinary Compounder. This recruitment will be conducted through an Open Competitive Examination (Computer-Based Test – CBT). Candidates who wish to apply should review the job requirements and follow the outlined application procedures carefully.

2. Eligibility Criteria
2.1 Nationality:
- The applicant must be an Indian National.
2.2 Age Limit:
- For Male Candidates: 18 to 33 years (as of the closing date of receipt of online applications)
- For Female Candidates: 18 to 38 years (as of the closing date of receipt of online applications)
Age Relaxation:
- OBC Candidates: 3 years (i.e., 36 years for males and 41 years for females)
- Central Government Civilian Employees: Up to 40 years of age for employees who have rendered at least 3 years of continuous service as of the closing date of applications.
- DRM and Contract Employees: Age relaxation up to 40 years in accordance with Andaman & Nicobar Administration rules.
2.3 Educational Qualifications:
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (XII) in Science Stream with Biology as a core subject from a recognized institution.
- Diploma in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Pharmacy, or Livestock Extension (Minimum 2 years) from a recognized board or institution.
- Candidates must pass the Computer-Based Test (CBT) to be conducted by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services.
2.4 Special Requirements for Current Government Employees:
- Central Government Civilian Employees or Departmental Candidates under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration must apply online and upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department, confirming that they have informed their department about applying for the post.
3. Selection Procedure
The selection process involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates. The final selection will be based on merit.
3.1 Computer-Based Test (CBT) Structure:
The test will be Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) based, and the details are as follows:

- Duration: 1.5 hours
- The test will be bilingual (Hindi and English) for both the General Knowledge and Subject-specific sections.
3.2 Syllabus for the Examination:
The syllabus for the General Knowledge section will include:
- Current affairs
- General awareness of the environment and its application to society
- India and its neighboring countries (history, geography, culture, economics, politics, and science)
- Basic knowledge of computers
For the Veterinary Subject section, the following topics will be covered:
- Basic Anatomy and Physiology of Livestock & Poultry
- Animal Reproduction and Artificial Insemination
- Basic Andrology and Elementary Parasitology
- Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy
- Livestock and Poultry Care and Nutrition
- Fodder and Grassland Management
3.3 Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- The minimum qualifying marks for the CBT are 33% on an overall basis.
3.4 Merit List and Final Selection:
- Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be selected based on their performance in the exam. A merit list will be prepared, and only candidates who meet the cut-off will be called for document verification.
4. Document Verification Process
Only candidates who qualify for the CBT will proceed to the document verification stage. Shortlisted candidates must present the following documents for verification:
- Educational Certificates (10th and 12th grade marksheets, Diploma)
- Caste/Category Certificate (for OBC, EWS, or ST candidates)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Central Government employees (if applicable)
- Proof of Age (Matriculation certificate)
- Other supporting documents as mentioned in the online application process
Failure to provide any required document during the verification process will result in disqualification.
5. Application Process

6. Examination Centers
The Recruitment Examination will be conducted at Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Candidates must familiarize themselves with the exam center in advance and arrive at least an hour before the exam time.
Admit Card:
Admit cards will be made available online, and candidates are required to download and print their admit cards. No admit card will be sent by post.
7. General Instructions for Applicants
- Online Submission: Applications must be submitted carefully and accurately. No corrections will be allowed after submission.
- Reporting Time: Candidates must reach the examination center at least one hour before the start of the examination.
- Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, calculators, and other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. Any candidate found with such items will be disqualified.
- Examination Conduct: Candidates are required to follow all instructions mentioned in the admit card and provided by the exam center officials.
- TA/DA: No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided for attending the exam or document verification.

- Final Selection: Candidates will be selected based on merit in the Computer-Based Test, subject to document verification and meeting the eligibility criteria.
- Reservation Benefits: Candidates applying under ST, OBC, or EWS categories must possess valid certificates to avail of reservation benefits. If the documents are not valid or fail to meet the criteria, the candidate will be considered under the Unreserved category.
