GPAT Scholarships and Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy PG Studies (PMSPPS)

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has announced scholarships to support students pursuing postgraduate pharmacy education in India. The main objective is to aid GPAT-qualified students financially, encouraging them to excel in their studies and contribute to the field of pharmacy.

GPAT Scholarships

1. GPAT Scholarship

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) scholarship is awarded by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) to students who qualify for the GPAT exam, an entrance examination for postgraduate pharmacy programs in India. Only students admitted to PCI-approved postgraduate programs are eligible.

2. Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy Post Graduate Studies (PMSPPS)

The Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy PG Studies is a PCI initiative designed to aid students financially for two years (24 months), provided they continue in a PCI-approved institution.

Scholarship Amount:

  • Qualified GPAT students receive INR 12,400 per month for the academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

3. Eligibility Criteria

  1. GPAT Qualification: Only students who have cleared the GPAT exam are eligible for this scholarship.
  2. PCI-Approved Programs: The scholarship applies exclusively to students enrolled in PCI-approved postgraduate programs.
  3. Scholarship Duration: The scholarship covers a maximum period of two years.

4. Disbursement Process

The scholarship is disbursed through Canara Bank. Qualified students must open an account with Canara Bank to receive the monthly payments.

Steps to Open an Account:

  1. Visit the Canara Bank portal using the Account Opening Link.
  2. Document Requirements:
    • A smartphone registered with UIDAI.
    • Original PAN Card and Aadhaar Card.
    • A blank sheet of paper and pen for verification.
