General Eligibility Requirements
Nationality | Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. |
Residency | Only candidates residing in U.P./M.P. are eligible and must produce a resident certificate. |
Age Criteria | Minimum 18 years and maximum 26 years as on the cut-off date i.e., 01.10.2025. Candidates should have been born on or between 01/10/1999 to 01/10/2007. |

Mode of Qualification | Qualifications must be from a recognized University/Institute as a full-time regular course in relevant disciplines. Part-time / Correspondence / Distance Learning modes render the candidate ineligible. |
Previous Apprenticeship/Experience | Candidates who have undergone Apprenticeship earlier or are pursuing Apprenticeship Training under The Apprenticeship Act, or have job experience for 1 year or more, are summarily ineligible. |
Higher Qualification | Candidates possessing higher qualification over and above the prescribed qualification shall not be considered eligible. |

How to Apply Online | |

Step 1: NATS Registration | First, candidates must register themselves on the online NATS portal: https://nats.education.gov.in/. An Enrolment ID will be generated upon successful registration. |
Step 2: Apply on NATS | After registration, candidates must apply for the specific positions on the NATS portal. |
Contact Information | Candidates must have an active email ID and mobile number, valid for at least one year. All communications will be via NCL website, email, or SMS. |
Required Scanned Documents | Scanned copies of a colour photograph and signature in black ink of the size specified on the portal are required. |
Accuracy of Information | Candidates must ascertain the correctness of all information before final submission of the online application form. Candidates are solely responsible for the information provided. |
Confirmation | After successful application/registration, candidates must take a printout of the filled-in online application for future reference. |
Document Submission | No paper-based applications will be accepted. Candidates must provide all relevant details in the NATS portal and save/preserve hard and soft copies of their online application. Original documents (Aadhar Card, Marksheets, Caste Certificate) are required during document verification. |

Selection Methodology
The selection process for NCL Paramedical Apprentice Trainees involves several stages to ensure fair and merit-based recruitment.

Application Limit | A candidate may apply for only one notified position. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification. |
Provisional Shortlisting | Provisional shortlisting will be based on the aggregate marks scored in the qualifying graduation/diploma course. NCL reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for Document Verification. Shortlisting will be based on information submitted on the NATS portal. |
Document Verification (DV) | Shortlisted candidates must appear for scrutiny with all original certificates/documents as per eligibility criteria. The date and venue for scrutiny will be notified on the official NCL website www.nclcil.in. Failure to report with original documents will result in cancellation of candidature. |
Merit Panel | Post scrutiny, “Merit panels” will be drawn based on aggregate marks in the qualifying course, arranged in descending order. The merit list will be published on the official NCL website. |
Tie-breaking Rule | In case of a tie, preference will be given to the candidate with an earlier Date of Birth. If the tie persists, the candidate whose name appears first in the English Dictionary will be preferred. |
Medical Test | Final offers are subject to clearing a Medical Test as per Mines Rules 1955 standards. A fitness certificate from a government hospital’s medical officer (not less than Assistant Civil Surgeon) is mandatory. The medical fitness certificate must be issued *after* the release date of this Notification. The prescribed format for the medical fitness certificate is Annexure-3. |
Apprenticeship Contract | The apprenticeship contract will be generated via the NATS portal and must be accepted by the candidate. The contract will be operative between the Apprentice Trainee and NCL’s General Manager (HRD)/Head of Department (HRD) upon approval by BOAT-Western region officials. |

Important Terms and Conditions | |

Governing Act | The Apprenticeship Act, 1961 (Amendment Act 2014) and The Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, will be referred for any clarification. |
No TA/DA | No TA/DA will be paid to shortlisted applicants called for scrutiny and post-scrutiny processes. |
No Absorption in NCL | The Apprenticeship Trainee shall not be absorbed as an employee of NCL, nor can they raise a claim for employment in NCL. |
Caste/Disability Certificate | Candidates claiming reservation must submit Caste Certificates (Annexure-1) and Disability Certificates (Annexure-2) issued by a competent authority. |
Affidavit | All shortlisted candidates must submit a valid Affidavit (Annexure-4) assuring various stipulations before the commencement of training. |
Stipend Payment | Stipend will be paid directly into the AADHAAR linked bank account of the Apprentice Trainee. |
Website Updates | Candidates are advised to periodically visit the NCL website www.nclcil.in for all future correspondence and latest information. Relevant information will also be provided under NCL website Menu > Career > Apprenticeship Training section. |
Application Rejection | Incorrect, incomplete, or late applications, or those not fulfilling eligibility criteria, will be rejected without notice. |
Canvassing | Canvassing in any manner will lead to cancellation of candidature. |
Administrative Control | Apprentices will be under the complete administrative control of NCL’s various areas/projects for training, stipend, leave, attendance, etc. Deployment across units is at NCL management’s prerogative. |
No Accommodation/Transport | Apprenticeship Trainees will not be provided any accommodation, fooding/lodging, or transport during the training period. |
