NIPER-R desires to recruit “Professor of Practice” for the institute in the area of Medical Devices and Novel Drug Delivery / Drug Regulatory & Medical Affairs as detailed below, in line with New Education Policy 2020. Professor of Practice will be expected to teach in different programs as per the norms of the Institutes; to take part in academic administration and promoting industry-institutes linkage through wide range of activities.

These individuals would ideally provide students with a better understanding of the practical applications in a particular field. NIPER-Raebareli is looking for candidates, distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in their profession in the area of Medical Devices and Novel Drug Delivery / Drug Regulatory & Medical Affairs sector to meet the needs of industry and the economy, by mentoring and bringing real world practices and experiences of the industry to the classroom to enhance the skills of the students. Heads of Institutes / Industry may nominate eligible Indian nationals through online process, for the post of Professor of Practice. This is a contractual appointment and direct application as well as nomination are acceptable.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should have minimum total 15 years of professional experience in the field of Medical Devices and should have worked in senior position such as CEO/CTO/UP/Director for at least 5 years. They should have at least a Master’s degree in Pharmacy or related fields. Ph.D. is desirable but not essential. However, a lack of Ph.D. must be offset by demonstrated domain knowledge obtained from deep experience in the ‘field’.

Appointment and Benefits

The Professor of Practice (Medical Devices) is a contractual appointment on a regular scale depending on experience. The allowances, leave and other benefits will be as per Institutes norms. The offer would be for an initial period of two year and would be extendable based on performance and contribution made, up to one year.

General Instructions
1. Candidates of only Indian Nationality can apply for these posts.
2. All qualifications acquired must be recognized in law.
3. The qualifications and experience of candidates must be relevant to the position applied for.
4. Age and experience requirements shall be reckoned as on the closing date of the advertisement.
5. Mere fulfillment of qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be short-listed. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable number based on relevant criteria, higher than the minimum prescribed.
6. The Institute reserves the right to act and take decisions as deemed fit, in all matters relating to 1) Eligibility; 2) Acceptance or rejection of the application; 3) Incomplete or incorrect information (if any) furnished by the applicant; 4) Shortlisting and selection; No request or correspondence of any kind in this regard would be entertained.
7. No vigilance or disciplinary case should have been contemplated, initiated, pending, or taken against the candidate as of the date of submitting the applications. Such candidates would be ineligible and hence should not apply. If such a development arises after the candidate submits the application, the Institute must be promptly notified.
8. The candidates should not have faced any action by any law enforcement agency and should not have been convicted by any Court of Law, either in India or abroad.
9. The Institute reserves the right to terminate the engagement with the selected candidate without citing any reasons whatsoever and no claim in this regard would lie against the Institute.
10. Appointments under Direct Recruitment are regular in nature with a probation period as per the norms of the institute and the same shall be confirmed depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent.
11. The Institute reserves the right to :
a. Withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect.
b. Fill or not to fill up some or all the posts advertised for any reasons whatsoever. Increase/decrease the number of posts without giving any reason.
c. Any edition/deletion and changes in the matter of terms and conditions given in this recruitment notification.

1. The vacancies and positions are as given in the advertisement above.
2. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any, some, or all the advertised positions; or cancel the advertisement in whole or in part, without assigning any reason and without incurring any liability. The Institute also reserves the right to extend the closing date forreceipt of applications; restrict, enlarge, modify, or alter the requirements or recruitment process in whole or part, if such need arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereof.
3. Part-time/Full-time engagement: Full-time engagement.
4. The engagement may be initially for up to one year. At the end of the initial engagement or subsequent extension, the Institute will make an assessment and take the decision about extension. This institute will devise its own assessment procedure for extension based on the contribution and requirements of the experts engaged as Professors of Practice. The maximum duration of service of Professor of Practice at the institute should not exceed three years and is extendable by one year in exceptional cases and the total service should not exceed four years under any circumstances.
