Position Overview

Tripura University is seeking applications from qualified Indian citizens for the role of Pharmacist in its non-teaching department. This role is integral to managing and dispensing medications as per the prescriptions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with the Pharmacy Act, among other responsibilities. The selected candidate will work within the University Health Center, providing essential pharmacy services to support health and wellness within the campus community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medication Dispensing: Dispense prescribed medications accurately to patients and provide guidance on safe usage.
2. Inventory Management: Regularly monitor inventory levels, order new supplies, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals to maintain drug efficacy.
3. Compliance: Ensure all pharmacy practices meet legal and regulatory standards as outlined by the Pharmacy Act and University policies.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records for all medications dispensed, as well as daily transactions and inventory logs.
5. Patient Consultation: Offer advice on prescription medications, usage, dosage, side effects, and any contraindications.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, the administration, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless service delivery within the University Health Center.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for this position:

1. Educational Requirements:

   • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, OR
   • Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) with at least two years of relevant service experience in a recognized healthcare facility or similar institution.

2. Licensure Requirements:

   • The candidate must be registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act and must hold a valid registration certificate.

3. Age Limit:

   • The maximum age for applicants is 27 years as of the application closing date. Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms (details provided in the “General Terms & Conditions” section).

Selection Procedure

The selection process for the Pharmacist position will follow the Cadre Recruitment Rules, 2023, of Tripura University. The process includes:

• Written Test and/or Skill Test:
  • Candidates will be assessed based on merit determined through a written examination and/or skill test, depending on the requirements of the position.
• Shortlisting:
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for further evaluation. Selection will be based strictly on performance in the test(s).

General Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility and Verification:

   • Candidates must ensure they meet the essential qualifications and eligibility criteria. Providing inaccurate information or submitting false documents will result in disqualification.

2. Reservation and Age Relaxation:

   • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD categories will be provided relaxation in age, experience, and minimum qualifying marks as per UGC/Government of India guidelines. Valid proof must be uploaded with the application.
   • Age Relaxation Details:
     • Regular employees of the Central Government, Central Universities, or UGC-recognized institutions: 5 years (must have rendered 3 years of regular service).
     • Ex-servicemen: 5 years.
     • Employees of Tripura University: 10 years.

3. Conditions of Service:

   • Selected candidates will be governed by the University’s statutes, ordinances, and UGC norms, as well as the Government of India’s rules and regulations. Candidates will also be subject to CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964, and CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965.

4. University’s Right to Amend:

   • Tripura University reserves the right to alter or cancel the recruitment process for any reason. Candidates will be notified if any changes occur.

5. No TA/DA for Attending Tests or Interviews:

   • Candidates will not be eligible for travel allowances to attend tests or interviews.
