The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has urged its member companies to submit their expressions of interest (EOI) to export levothyroxine and levonorgestrel from India if they have operations in Latin American Countries (LAC) or are interested in expanding their businesses in the region. The Indian Embassy in Guatemala has informed Pharmexcil that Winn Farma, a Guatemalan pharmaceutical firm, plans to import levothyroxine and levonorgestrel from India. The business has been in operation for the previous two years and sells both in chain and neighbourhood pharmacies.
Pharmexcil director general Udaya Bhaskar stated, “Pharmexcil has been working closely with our embassies overseas to promote Indian medicines and enable trade inquiries for the benefit of the Indian pharmaceutical sector. “Member companies with operations in LAC or those interested in growing their businesses in the region are encouraged to send in their (1) expression of interest with their coordinates and (2) company brochure in an email to Mr. Diego Torres, director general, Winn Farma (Email: distribuidorawinn@gmail.com at the latest and (3) clearly indicate their willingness to export which of the aforementioned products,” according to a Pharmexcil circular.
Myxedema coma (severe hypothyroidism), a disorder where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone, is treated with levothyroxine injection. When a quick effect is required and the oral route is prohibited, the powder form of levothyroxine injection can be used in place of the oral dose. Only your doctor or someone working closely with him or her should administer this medication. When other birth control methods have failed or after unprotected sex, levonorgestrel is used as an emergency contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. It functions by blocking the full development of a woman’s egg. Moreover, it might stop the woman’s egg from adhering to the uterus wall (womb).
