Description of Work Assist the team in data collection and field surveys on Ganges River dolphins, collecting ecological data, pollutant samples, and analysis under the supervision of the Project Scientist and Investigators.

Note for Pharmacy & Life Sciences Students:

While the primary focus of these projects is ecology and wildlife conservation, positions like **Project Scientist-II (Ecotoxicology)** (Project Sl. No. 02), **Principal Project Associate** (Sl. No. 04), and **Senior Project Associate** (Sl. No. 05) explicitly seek candidates with backgrounds in analytical techniques (e.g., GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, AAS, ICP-MS) for water, sediment, and biota analysis, and molecular biology (DNA extraction, PCR, genetic data analysis). These roles could be particularly relevant for Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and other Life Sciences graduates with strong laboratory and analytical skills, especially if they have relevant experience in environmental or ecotoxicological studies.

  • Fill out the application form completely, ensuring all details are accurate as per your mark sheets and certificates.
  • Attach the fee payment receipt and self-attested copies of all required documents (degrees, mark-sheets, experience certificates, category certificate, date of birth certificate, publications, UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/GATE details, NOC if applicable, etc.) as mentioned in the checklist (Page 14 of the advertisement).

Screening and Selection Process

Criteria for Shortlisting & Interview

Shortlisting of applicants for online interviews will be based on the following criteria as per WII rules (Ref. point 10 & 11 of the advertisement):

a) Field/ Lab / Project Assistant category (Total Marks: 50)

  • % Marks in Bachelor’s Degree (As per EQ of the advertised post): 25 Marks
  • Specialization in relevance to the Project applied (relevance evidence can be produced/submitted in the form of internship/volunteering work done or previous work experience in the relevant field): 25 Marks

b) Project Associate – I category (Total Marks: 50)

  • % Marks in Master’s Degree (As per EQ of the advertised post): 25 Marks
  • Specialization in relevance to the Project applied (relevance evidence can be produced/submitted in the form of internship/volunteering work done or previous work experience in the relevant field): 25 Marks

c) Project Associate – II/ Senior Project Associates/ Principal Project Associates/ Project Scientist I, II & III categories (Total Marks: 50)

  • UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET with JRFship/WII-NET Passed*: 5 Marks
  • % Marks in Post Graduation (As per EQ of the advertised post): 25 Marks
  • Research/Work Experience: 10 Marks
  • Publications in journal, Conference, book chapter etc.: 10 Marks

*A “No Objection Certificate” is mandatory for candidates whose Doctoral Degree is not awarded. Failing to submit the same, the application shall be liable to be rejected.

The top ten (10) shortlisted candidates against each advertised project/position will be called for interview(s). The decision of the Institute regarding eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of applications and mode of selection will be final.
