Pharmacist Vacancy 2025 | Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS) Recruitment

The Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS), under the National AIDS Control Programme (Department of Health & Family Welfare), invites online applications for the recruitment of Pharmacists on a contractual basis. These positions are available in Anti-retroviral Therapy (ART) Centres across Punjab. Vacancy Details: Pharmacist Posts

A total of 2 (Two) tentative vacancies for the Pharmacist position will be filled based on the reservation roster. The distribution of vacancies by category is detailed below. Candidates from other categories not specified will not be considered.

Important Note on ESM (Female-General) Reservation:

  • If no candidate from the ESM (Female-General) category applies, then ESM (Male-General) will be considered.
  • If no candidate from ESM (Male-General) applies, then lineal descendants of Ex-Serviceman general category will be considered.
  • If none of the candidates mentioned in the point 1 & 2 apply, the post will be filled from the General pool of general category as per the reservation guidelines of the Department of Defence Services Welfare, Govt. of Punjab.

Eligibility Criteria: Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must fulfill the following essential qualifications and experience criteria on or before the last date of application, 12-10-2025. Non-compliance will lead to ineligibility during document verification.

Qualifications and Experience for Pharmacist
Qualification Essential Experience & Desirable Skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institute. OR
  • Diploma in Pharmacy.
  • The candidate must be registered in the state pharmacy council.
  • 3 years of experience (for Diploma holders).
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Desirable: Community candidates from HIV infected and affected, as well as key communities.

Selection Criteria

The selection process for the Pharmacist position will involve multiple stages to assess the candidate’s suitability.

Stages of Selection
  1. Computer Typing/Knowledge Test: Candidates will first undergo a computer typing test (30 WPM in English) and/or a general knowledge test. A minimum of 50% marks is required to qualify.
  2. Written Examination: Candidates who successfully pass the computer typing/knowledge test will be eligible to appear for a written examination.
  3. Merit-Based Selection: The final selection will be based entirely on the merit of marks obtained in the written test, which carries 100% weightage (with a minimum of 35% passing marks).

Written Examination Details

For eligible candidates, the written test will be conducted with the following parameters:

Reporting Time Candidates must reach the venue one hour before the start of the exam.
Question Paper Language & Type The question paper will be in English and will consist of objective type MCQs.
Negative Marking There will be no negative marking.
Duration Candidates will be given 1:30 hours for the examination.
Mandatory Items Candidates must bring one identity proof (e.g., Aadhar Card/Voter Card).
Prohibited Items Use of mobile phones or other electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited.
Syllabus The question paper will comprise questions on:
  • Basics of HIV and Drug
  • Communication and Patient Management
  • Stock and Supply Management
  • Basics of Pharmacy
TA/DA No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the written test.

Document Verification Instructions

Provisionally eligible candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates must present all original documents and certificates.

Documents Required for Verification
  • Original Academic certificates (Degrees, Mark sheets).
  • Category certificate (if claimed, issued by Punjab Govt.).
  • Experience certificates.
  • Proof of passing Punjabi up to Matric standard or equivalent, or Punjabi Language Proficiency Test.
  • Age proof.
  • Photograph along with photocopy of all testimonials.
  • Failure to produce required documents or submission of fake/forged documents will lead to immediate cancellation of candidature.
  • No additional time will be given to submit documents.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending document verification.

Other Important Terms and Conditions

Key Terms & Conditions
  • Online Applications Only: Only online application forms will be entertained. Applications sent via email, post, courier, or in person will be rejected.
  • No Changes to Application: All particulars, including category once filled, cannot be modified. Candidates are advised to fill their applications with utmost care.
  • Number of Posts: The number of posts is subject to increase or decrease as per the decision of the Project Director, PSACS.
  • Reservation Certificate: The certificate for the claim of reservation must be issued by the competent authority and be the latest one, issued on or before the last date of application.
  • Nature of Post: These posts are purely contractual and temporary for one year, extendable based on work performance and conduct.
  • Educational Qualifications: Must be from a recognized University/Board. Original certificates must be available at the time of document submission.
  • Candidature Cancellation: If a candidate is found not fulfilling eligibility criteria at any point, their candidature will be cancelled.
  • Right to Cancel/Modify: The Project Director, PSACS, reserves the right to cancel/modify the entire recruitment process at any stage without issuing further notice.
  • Incomplete Applications: Incomplete applications will be rejected.
