Job Openings:
DRILS is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the following positions in their Process Chemistry R&D division:
A) Research Chemist / Sr. Research Chemist (R&D Synthesis)
- Experience Required: 0-5 Years
- Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
- Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
As a Research Chemist or Senior Research Chemist, you will be responsible for executing experimental procedures under the supervision of senior scientists. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of various research projects within the Process Chemistry R&D team. You will be expected to maintain high standards of safety and precision in your work, adhering to the institute’s stringent SOPs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines within the laboratory. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a safe working environment.
- Experimental Execution: Perform chemical experiments under the guidance of senior scientists. This involves synthesizing compounds, purifying materials, and analyzing results.
- Literature Review: Gather and review relevant scientific literature to support ongoing research projects.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments in laboratory notebooks (LNB). Ensure that all entries are in compliance with the institute’s SOPs.
- Chemical Inventory Management: Regularly update the chemical inventory list and ensure proper storage and labeling of all chemicals used in the laboratory.
- Instrument Calibration: Perform routine calibration of laboratory instruments such as pH meters, weighing balances, and other essential tools to ensure accurate results.
B) Research Associate (R&D Synthesis)
- Experience Required: 5-8 Years
- Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
- Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
The Research Associate will play a crucial role in conducting day-to-day experiments in the laboratory. This position demands a high level of expertise in organic chemistry, particularly in the interpretation of analytical data such as NMR spectra and HPLC chromatograms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of consistent and repeatable process execution, yielding high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Adherence: Ensure that all laboratory activities comply with safety regulations. Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- Experimental Procedures: Conduct daily experiments, including synthesis, purification, and analysis of chemical compounds. Ensure that all experiments are performed with precision and attention to detail.
- Data Interpretation: Analyze NMR spectra and HPLC chromatograms to draw meaningful conclusions about the chemical processes. Work towards optimizing these processes for better yield and purity.
- Process Consistency: Strive for consistency and repeatability in experimental results. Ensure that the processes you develop can be reliably reproduced by other team members.
- Project Documentation: Prepare detailed project presentations and maintain comprehensive research records. This documentation will be used for internal meetings and project reviews.
