Requirements –
- Chemicals – piperazine citrate, Glycerine, Chloroform spirit, Syrup, Peppermint oil and Distilled water
- Glassware – 1 Beaker,1 Measuring cylinder
Theory –
Elixirs are hydroalcoholic liquids that are clear, sweetened, aromatic, and intended for oral consumption. Ethyl alcohol (5–40%), water, glycerin or propylene glycol, flavouring, colouring, and an appropriate preservative are the major components of elixirs. The medicinal elixirs typically contain a strong medication, such as sedatives, antibiotics, or antihistamines. The flavoured elixirs are employed as flavours and carriers and contain no medication.

Procedure
- Dissolve piperazine citrate in sufficient purified water.
- Add peppermint oil, glycerin, chloroform spirit, simple syrup.
- Then add purified water to make up the required volume.
