Pay Scale:

• Pay Level 13 of 7th CPC: ₹1,23,100 – ₹2,15,900
• Pre-revised Pay Scale: ₹37,400 – ₹67,000 plus Grade Pay of ₹8,700

Appointment:

• Type of Appointment: Deputation (including short-term contract)
• Duration: The deputation period, including the period in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment, shall ordinarily not exceed five years.

Eligibility Criteria:

The position is open to officers from the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, recognized Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, Semi-Government, Statutory, or Autonomous Organisations.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

1. Educational Qualifications:

   • Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
     • Chemistry
     • Biochemistry
     • Pharmaceutical Chemistry
     • Pharmacy
     • Pharmacology
   • The degree should be from a recognized university or an equivalent institution.

2. Experience:

   • Experience in the field: Minimum of 12 years of experience in drug testing.
   • Coordination skills: Must have experience in coordinating the activities of different branches within a Drug Testing Laboratory.

Service Criteria:

• Current Employment:
  1. Analogous Post: The candidate should be holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
  2. Service in Grade: Alternatively, the candidate should have five years of service in Pay Level-12 (Pre-revised Pay Band-3 of ₹15,600 – ₹39,100 plus Grade Pay of ₹7,600 or equivalent) in the parent cadre or department.

Age Limit:

• Maximum Age: The maximum age for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract) should not exceed 56 years as of the closing date of receipt of the application.

Responsibilities of the Director:

• The Director will oversee the overall functioning of the RDTL, Chandigarh.
• Responsible for the quality control of Drugs & Cosmetics products through chemical, instrumentation, and microbiological analysis.
• The Director will also be responsible for coordinating the activities of different branches within the laboratory.

5. Statement of Major/Minor Penalties: If any, imposed on the officer during the last 10 years of service.
6. Verification Certificate: A certificate stating that the particulars furnished by the candidate have been verified and found correct as per service records.
7. Cadre Clearance Certificate
