The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), an esteemed institution under the Ministry of AYUSH, is inviting applications for the position of Pharmacist to support the Mission Utkarsh Project. This project is a key initiative aimed at combating anaemia among adolescent girls through innovative Ayurvedic interventions, focusing on the Bastar District in Chhattisgarh.

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Contractual (6 months with possible extension)
• Monthly Salary: Rs. 16,000/- (Consolidated)

About the Mission Utkarsh Project

Mission Utkarsh is a pioneering effort by the AIIA under the guidance of the Ministry of AYUSH. The project is designed to address the pressing issue of anaemia among adolescent girls by integrating the principles of Ayurveda with modern healthcare practices. This initiative is set to be implemented in five districts across Chhattisgarh, with a dedicated focus on the Bastar District. The project seeks to leverage the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to create sustainable health solutions for the community.

As a Pharmacist in this project, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective preparation, distribution, and management of Ayurvedic medicines, contributing significantly to the success of this mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Medicine Dispensation:

  • Accurately dispense Ayurvedic medicines as prescribed by the project’s medical team.
  • Prepare Ayurvedic formulations according to the project guidelines, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.
  • Educate patients on the correct usage of Ayurvedic medicines, providing detailed instructions and answering any queries.

• Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Maintain an organized inventory of all medicinal products, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Monitor stock levels regularly, coordinating with suppliers and the project team for timely replenishment of medicines.
  • Ensure all medicines are stored under appropriate conditions to maintain their efficacy.

• Documentation and Compliance:

  • Keep meticulous records of all medicines dispensed, including patient information, prescription details, and dosage instructions.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular reports detailing the pharmaceutical activities within the project.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and protocols as stipulated by AIIA and the Ministry of AYUSH.

• Support to the Medical Team:

  • Collaborate closely with Ayurvedic doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in clinical trials and research activities related to the project’s objectives.
  • Contribute to community outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness about Ayurveda and its benefits in managing anaemia.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Requirements:
  • A Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) or Diploma in Ayurvedic Nursing and Pharmacy (DAN&P) from a recognized institution.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably in an Ayurvedic healthcare setting.
• Age Limit:
  • Candidates must not exceed 45 years of age as of the date of application.

Skills and Attributes

• In-depth knowledge of Ayurvedic medicines and formulations.
• Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in educating patients about their medication.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.

Terms of Employment

• The contract is initially for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
• The position is strictly full-time, requiring adherence to a six-day work week. Occasional work on holidays may be necessary without additional compensation.
• The selected candidate will be required to maintain confidentiality and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
• Tax deduction at source (TDS) will be applicable as per government norms.

Leave Entitlement

• The candidate is entitled to 1.5 days of leave per month on a pro-rata basis. Unused leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a walk-in interview conducted by a Selection Committee. The interview will assess the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
