Short Information: IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Non-Teaching Posts 2025
The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, an institution established in 1926, invites online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for various non-teaching positions. These include Junior Superintendent (Library), Junior Technician (Library), and Junior Technician (Medical). Candidates interested in these roles, especially those with qualifications in Pharmacy for the Medical Technician post, are encouraged to apply. #Institute requires one post for each domain i.e. Pharmacy and Physiotherapy.

Eligibility Conditions: Post-wise Details

1. Junior Superintendent (Library)

Post / Pay Level / Maximum Age Limit Educational and other Qualifications (Essential)
Junior Superintendent (Library) / Pay Level – 6 / Age – 35 Years
  • M. Lib.Sc. / MLISc or equivalent from recognized University / Institute with at least 55% marks in the qualifying degree. OR
  • Master’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce or any other discipline with and also B. Lib.Sc./ BLISc with at least 55% marks from recognized University/Institute.
  • (ii) Post Graduate Diploma / Certificate Course in Computer Application / Library Automation from a recognized Institute with minimum of 06 months duration.
  • (iii) At least 04 years working experience in a reputed library in a post in Pay Level -5 (Pre-revised Pay Band – 2; Grade Pay: Rs. 2800).
  • (iv) Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer office applications, M.S Word, Excel, Power-point or equivalent is a must.

2. Junior Technician (Library)

Junior Technician (Library) / Pay Level – 3 / Age – 30 years Essential:
  • Graduate plus Bachelor of Library Science (minimum 55% marks) or Master of Library Science (minimum 55% marks) or equivalent Diploma (minimum 55% marks) in Library Science.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant library experience in a reputed organization.
Desirable:
  • Experience of Academic Library in a reputed educational Institution.
  • Having working knowledge of Library Management computer software.

3. Junior Technician (Medical) – (For Pharmacy Students)

Junior Technician (Medical) / Pay Level – 3 / Age – 30 years Essential (For Pharmacy Domain):
  • Class 10th with 3-years Diploma (minimum 55% marks) in Pharmacy. OR
  • 10+2 with 2-year Diploma (minimum 55% marks) in Pharmacy.
  • (Note: The # symbol indicates one post required for Pharmacy and one for Physiotherapy.)
Desirable:
  • Experience of Hospitals/ Health Centre run by a reputed residential educational Institution.

General Instructions for Candidates

Key Guidelines & Important Information
  • Age Relaxation: Admissible for SC, OBC-NCL and PwDs candidates as per Government of India norms. Regular employees of IIT (ISM) or other IITs/NITs/CFTIs with at least three years of service may get a 5-year age relaxation.
  • Cut-off Date: 24th October 2025 will be considered the cut-off date for age, educational qualification, and experience.
  • Reservation Norms: The Institute follows GOI reservation norms for SC, OBC-NCL & EWS. Applicants must attach valid caste/EWS certificates in the prescribed Central Govt. format, issued on or after 01.04.2025 for EWS and OBC-NCL.
  • Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on essential qualifications and experience. Final selection will involve Written test and Trade test/ Computer Proficiency test.
  • No TA/DA: No Travel Allowance/Dearness Allowance will be paid for appearing in recruitment tests.
  • Online Application: Application must be submitted online through the Non-Faculty Recruitment module.
  • Incomplete Applications: Applications received after the closing date, or incomplete applications, will be summarily rejected.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): Government/PSU employees must submit an NOC from their employer at the time of Document Verification.
