Position Overview

NIB is inviting applications for the position of Junior Scientist. This role is ideal for individuals with an M.Pharm degree and relevant experience who are eager to contribute to the quality control and evaluation of biological products.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Control Testing: Conduct quality control testing of biologicals and biotherapeutics to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
• Technical Dossier Review: Review and assess technical dossiers of biologicals and biotherapeutics, including vaccines, focusing on Chemistry Manufacturing Control (CMC), non-clinical and clinical trial data.
• In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) Devices: Evaluate technical dossiers of IVD medical devices, including product description, design, manufacturing information, performance specifications, validation, verification studies, and regulatory history.
• Adverse Event Evaluation: Analyze and review adverse events associated with immunization, biologicals and biotherapeutics, blood transfusion, and IVD medical devices.
• Quality System Management: Manage quality systems in line with ISO: 17025 and ISO: 34, incorporating Total Quality Management principles.
• Research Contribution: Engage in research related to biologicals and biotherapeutics to advance knowledge and application in the field.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

• Essential: Master’s degree in Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Bacteriology, Pharmacology, Serology, Molecular Biology, or Physiology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks.

Experience:

• Essential: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Quality control testing of biologicals and biotherapeutics.
  • Review of technical dossiers for biologicals, biotherapeutics, and IVD medical devices.
  • Evaluation of adverse events related to immunization, biologicals, blood transfusion, and IVD devices.
  • Management of quality systems with application of ISO standards.
  • Research in biologicals and biotherapeutics.

Desirable:

• At least 1 publication or article in an indexed journal related to the above-mentioned fields.

• No Objection Certificate: Candidates currently employed in government departments or public sector undertakings must submit a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification.
