During the inauguration ceremony held at Palaj in Gandhinagar, Minister Shah expressed India’s determination not only to achieve self-sufficiency in drug manufacturing but also to become a global exporter of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Key Starting Materials (KSM) within the next decade.
Shah emphasized the crucial role played by institutions like NIPER in attaining self-reliance in pharmaceutical research and development within the country. He highlighted the government’s efforts to establish pharmaceutical and bulk drug parks, underscoring the parallel focus on achieving self-reliance in the medical device sector.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Chemical and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya commended the inauguration, stating that the new NIPER campus in Gandhinagar would revolutionize pharmaceutical education and research in the state. They emphasized the extensive opportunities it would provide for young professionals in biomedical research. Minister Mandaviya further noted that NIPER would serve as a talent pool for conducting research and development in the continually expanding pharmaceutical sector in the country. The new NIPER Ahmedabad campus, sprawling across 60 acres in Palaj, Gandhinagar, stands as a testament to India’s commitment to advancing pharmaceutical education, research, and self-sufficiency in the industry.
