Job Description:

The National Health Mission (NHM), under the Govt of NCT of Delhi, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Govt Pharmacist in the South East District. The Govt Pharmacist role is a crucial part of the healthcare delivery team, ensuring the effective management, dispensing, and counseling related to medications. This is a contractual position under the National Health Mission, with a possibility of extension depending on performance and operational requirements.

The Govt Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, maintaining accurate pharmaceutical records, managing the inventory of drugs, and collaborating with medical professionals to support the health and wellness of patients within the National Health Mission framework.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the Govt Pharmacist position must meet the following qualifications:

1. Option 1:

   • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy) from a recognized institution.
   • Registered with the Pharmacy Council of India or any state Pharmacy Council.

2. Option 2:

   • 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) from a recognized board.
   • Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.
   • Registered with the Pharmacy Council.

Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of computers, especially pharmacy-related software for record-keeping and inventory management.

Remuneration:

• A consolidated salary of ₹32,600/- per month, as per Govt of NCT of Delhi and National Health Mission norms.

Age Limit:

• Maximum age for applicants is 30 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories as per Govt of India norms. Candidates applying under these categories must provide valid certificates.

There are 10 vacancies for the Govt Pharmacist post, distributed as follows:

• OBC: 2
• SC: 3
• ST: 1
• EWS: 1

Application Process:

Candidates interested in the Govt Pharmacist vacancy under the National Health Mission must submit their applications in the prescribed format along with self-attested copies of the following documents:

1. High School (10th) Marksheet and Certificate.
2. Intermediate (12th) Marksheet and Certificate.
3. Graduation/Diploma Marksheet and Degree/Certificate.
4. Valid Registration Certificate with the Pharmacy Council.
5. Caste/EWS Certificate (if applicable).
6. Two recent passport-sized photographs.

Application Deadline: Applications must reach by 5 PM on 29th October 2024. Late applications will not be considered.

Selection Process:

1. Initial Screening: Applications will be screened for eligibility based on the submitted documents.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Candidates must bring original documents for verification at the time of the interview.
3. Probation: Selected candidates will undergo a three-month probation period during which their performance will be evaluated. Continuation in the role is subject to satisfactory performance.

General Instructions:

1. Applications must be complete with all required documents; incomplete applications will be rejected.
2. IDHS, South East District reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies or withdraw the recruitment process without prior notice.
3. This is a non-transferable Govt Pharmacist position based in South East District, Delhi.
4. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispensing Medications:

   • Accurately dispense prescription medications as per Govt guidelines and National Health Mission protocols.
   • Ensure patients understand the correct usage, dosage, potential side effects, and storage conditions of the medications.
   • Label and package medications in compliance with Govt regulations and NHM standards.

2. Pharmaceutical Inventory Management:

   • Maintain and manage the pharmacy’s inventory by tracking pharmaceutical stocks, ensuring the availability of essential medicines, and avoiding stockouts.
   • Regularly audit the inventory to ensure all medications are up-to-date, properly stored, and organized according to Govt norms and safety regulations.
   • Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to replenish stocks in line with NHM protocols and ensure compliance with Govt policies.

3. Patient Counseling and Support:

   • Provide clear guidance to patients on the proper use of over-the-counter medications, prescription drugs, and any potential drug interactions.
   • Advise patients and caregivers on medication adherence to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
   • Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals under the National Health Mission to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.

4. Regulatory and Compliance:

   • Ensure strict compliance with Govt regulations concerning the storage, dispensing, and record-keeping of controlled substances and medications.
   • Maintain and update patient records and ensure all pharmaceutical activities comply with the Pharmacy Act and National Health Mission standards.
   • Prepare regular reports and maintain documentation to meet both Govt and NHM regulatory requirements.

5. Collaboration with Healthcare Teams:

   • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care and support public health initiatives under the National Health Mission.
   • Participate in patient care meetings and offer pharmacological insights for treatment plans.

6. Public Health Initiatives:

   • Support health promotion campaigns and other public health activities initiated by the Govt of NCT of Delhi and NHM, including immunization drives and health awareness programs.
   • Ensure the availability of necessary pharmaceutical products during public health initiatives.
