Essential Qualifications & Experience

Qualification & Experience Criteria
Educational Qualifications (Any of the following):
  • Degree in Medicine (MBBS), Dental Surgery (BDS), Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), or Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS).
  • Pharmacy (B. Pharm), Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
  • Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing), Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field with 2 years of relevant experience.
Mandatory Certification:
  • Candidate must have relevant certification in medical transcription, medical documentation, or health information management.
Experience:
  • Minimum 1-year experience in medical transcription.
  • (Desirable) 1-year experience in operating a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in a hospital environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret various handwriting styles in medical contexts.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
  • Strong computer application knowledge.
  • Excellent typing and data entry skills with a high focus on accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience with HMIS or Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify relevant information quickly.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Eager to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive patient information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Job Profile & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities at IIT Bombay Hospital
The successful candidate will join as a clinical technical assistant to support the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS). Key responsibilities include:
  • Digital Transcription: Accurately digitize patient information, doctors’ handwritten notes, diagnoses, prescriptions, and treatment details during doctor-patient interactions.
  • Data Management: Ensure real-time, error-free data entry into Electronic Health Records (EHR) to maintain updated and accurate medical records.
  • System Support: Monitor HMIS functionality, report technical issues to the IT team, and provide basic guidance and training to new users.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and lab personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Compliance: Maintain, update, and retrieve electronic health records in accordance with institutional guidelines and ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards.

Pay Details & Work Hours

Salary and Work Schedule
Pay Level PR-A3
Salary Range ₹ 35,400 – ₹ 1,12,400 per month + other allowances as applicable.
Work Hours 8 hours on all working days. Start time as per OPD timings. May be required to work on weekends and holidays, with appropriate compensation for overtime.
