Short Information of the Recruitment

Recruitment Summary & Update
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially released a corrigendum regarding the recruitment of Drug Inspectors (औषधि निरीक्षक) under the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, U.P. (Advt. No. D-6/E-1/2025). Initially, the application was accepted until 22-01-2026.

In compliance with the order passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court on 10.04.2026 (Special Leave Petition Civil No. 3168/2026), UPPSC has re-opened the online application portal to accept applications based on the newly clarified Essential Academic Qualifications. Eligible Pharmacy/Medicine candidates can now apply from 21.09.2026.
Important Note: Candidates who had already applied previously (prior to the deadline of 22-01-2026) and fulfill the qualifications DO NOT need to apply again. Their previous applications remain completely valid.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

As per the revised Corrigendum Notice

Requirement Type Detailed Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (Degree) Must hold a Degree in Pharmacy OR Pharmaceutical Sciences OR Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or equivalent from a recognized University established in India by law.
Mandatory Experience
(Must fulfill ANY ONE of the following)
  • (a) Eighteen (18) months’ experience in the manufacture of at least one of the substances specified in Schedule ‘C’ to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945; OR
  • (b) Eighteen (18) months’ experience in testing of at least one of the substances specified in Schedule ‘C’ to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 in a laboratory approved for this purpose by the licensing authority; OR
  • (c) Three (3) years’ experience in the inspection of firms manufacturing any of the substances specified in Schedule ‘C’ to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 during the tenure of their services as Drug Inspector of any State Government or Central Government.

How to Apply (Online Process)

Steps to Submit Application
  1. Visit the official portal of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC).
  2. Go to the latest notifications/advertisements section and look for the Re-opened Link for Advt. No. D-6/E-1/2025 (Drug Inspector).
  3. Read the official notification thoroughly to ensure you possess the required Schedule ‘C’ manufacturing/testing experience.
  4. Fill in your basic registration details. (Candidates who registered in 2025/2026 earlier do not need to reapply).
  5. Upload scanned copies of your recent photograph, signature, and necessary experience certificates.
  6. Pay the requisite application fee online via Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card before 21.10.2026.
  7. Submit the final application and print the confirmation page for future reference.
  8. For any payment issues, utilize the Fee Reconciliation window available until 28.10.2026.
